The LCS Summer Split 2020 playoffs continue this weekend with Round 2. First, we have the winner’s bracket matches, where the top teams start their run towards the title. C9 goes up against FlyQuest, who beat EG in a tight 5-game series to get to this point. Golden Guardians, who pulled of the biggest upset of playoffs so far, is facing the first seed TL. The LCS summer split of 2020 has been very unpredictable, and will probably continue to be. We will do our best to provide you both with some safe bets and some more risky ones. LCS Playoffs Round 2 Day 1 – Thursday 20th Aug
FlyQuest – Cloud 9
If you would ask me to predict this series a couple of months ago, I would say it was one-sided. Now, not so much. C9 slumped in the last weeks of the season, only finishing a game above both FlyQuest and TSM. Now they have had a few weeks to improve, and it will be interesting to see which C9 takes the rift on Thursday.
FlyQuest beat EG 3-2 to get here, being up 2-0 in a convincing fashion and then dropping the ball. However, they showed resilience in managing to close out game five. This should provide some confidence getting into these games.
Stylistically, FlyQuest is the more stable team, but C9 has more firepower and a higher ceiling. Unfortunately for them, they haven’t been able to reach that ceiling lately. Therefore this should be a tight series, with the teams trading blows. It wouldn’t surprise me if it goes the full five games. In the end, I think C9 will prevail. They both have had one more week to practise without pressure, as well as a full five games on scouting material on FlyQuest.
So this gives us a couple of different bets:
- C9 Win @ 1.24 Odds
- FlyQuest Win +1,5 @ 2.29 Odds (this one I really recommend)
- Over 3,5 games @ 1.5 Odds OR Over 4,5 games @ 3.26 Odds
LCS Playoffs Round 2 Day 2 – Friday 21st Aug
Golden Guardians – Team Liquid
Team Liquid finished the season as the undisputed best team in the league. It is a team filled with proved veterans who performed well on the highest stages, although on other teams. The fact that it is best of fives should only improve them, as they should be well prepared to perform on top.
Golden Guardians are also on a roll. A 3-0 zero-result against TSM is not something that can be overlooked (VoD here) and they should feel confident heading into this match. For GG, draft is extremely important. When Closer and Damonte gets their hands on the right champs, they can control the flow of the game. Especially Closer will have to outsmart Broxah, which is no easy feat. Another condition for a possible GG win is if Huhi can keep up with CoreJJ. CoreJJ is probably the best player in the entire league, and are able to win the lane consistently. Afterwards, he often uses this advantage to team up with Broxah and affects the rest of the map. FBI and Huhi dominated the TSM bot lane, but Tactical and CoreJJ are of a different breed.
TL are the clear favourites, and I don’t see them crashing and burning as TSM did. Golden Guardians are more than capable of taking a game, but not more than that. TL wins 3-1 or 3-0.
This also gives us a couple of different bets:
- TL Win @ 1.2 Odds
- TL Win -1,5 @ 1.5 Odds
- TL Win 3-0 @ 2.61 Odds OR TL win 3-1 @ 3.09 Odds
Best of luck in your betting endeavours. Hopefully, we will get two great best of fives with a lot of tension and excitement. And remember, always bet responsibly!
