The moment we have all been waiting for is finally here, as the Shanghai Dragons, Seoul Dynasty, Philadelphia Fusion, and San Francisco Shock meet in Seoul to determine who the best team in the Overwatch League is. Like the rest of the playoff brackets in September, the format is double elimination and all heroes are available, but look for teams to play more standard compositions. It will be the last time we see these teams for a few months, so here’s what we can look forward to in the Overwatch League 2020 Grand Finals.
OWL 2020 Grand Final First Round Matches
- Seoul Dynasty vs. San Francisco Shock
- Philadelphia Fusion vs. Shanghai Dragons
What To Watch Out For At The Overwatch League 2020 Grand Finals
Crowd Favourites Shanghai Dragons Looking On Point.
The Shanghai Dragons are the clear-cut favourites, boasting the new league MVP in Fleta while Diem, Void, and Fearless have helped pick up the load to run away with the APAC region. Since they have been far and away from the best team Asia has to offer, we have not seen them stack up yet against the American teams.
Philiadelphia Fusion Hopes To Prove Themselves.
Philadelphia and San Francisco have developed quite the rivalry towards the end of the season, with San Francisco winning the finals of the Countdown Cup while Philadelphia won their regular-season meeting.
What I’m looking for is Philadelphia to have a chip on their shoulder after coming so close to winning so many titles and losing right at the doorstep, having reached the first Grand Finals and other tournaments in 2020. With Carpe, Fury, Sado, Funnyastro, and rookie of the year Alarm leading the way, the Fusion should come out guns blazing.
Is It The Right Meta For SF Shock’s Carry Duo?
Meanwhile, San Francisco is looking to defend their crown, transitioning to their Korean players while giving new addition ta1yo some playing time. Rascal and ANS leading the DPS instead of Sinatraa and Architect will be plenty explosive, but they seem like a duo who needs the right meta or map to get the most value.
It Might Be A Short Run For The Seoul Dynasty.
Finally, the Cinderella Seoul Dynasty is riding high thanks to former London Spitfire members Profit and Gesture finding their postseason form. While they rode the briefly popular Roadhog meta on their path to the Grand Finals, I do not see that being sustained further, meaning their either try something different or their attempts of continuing will backfire on them.
Overwatch League 2020 Grand Final Predictions
Now, this is quite a wild one, but I believe that the Shanghai Dragons have what it takes and will complete their redemption story and beat Philadelphia in the finals. Feel free to check out our Overwatch Betting guide if you plan on delving into some OWL 2020 Grand Final Betting.
