Week 8 Preview & Predictions – OWL 2020
This weekend, Week 8, most of the Overwatch League teams finally return to action as matches will now be played offline. The teams, for the time being, will be divided into three groups, the Atlantic Conference teams, the American Pacific teams plus Korea, and the Chinese teams, and the matches will be played within those groups for the time being. While we have seen all the Atlantic teams play, but now, after a few false starts, we finally get to see the League’s Asia-based teams play. What To Look Out For
The League’s four Chinese teams will finally play, and even though they will only play each other for now, their matches should still be worth watching. Guangzhou can finally show off their weird mixed roster with the likes of Neptuno, Wya, and Cr0ng while Shanghai has its star-studded lineup now featuring Fleta, Void, Stand1, and former Dragon now rejoining the team Fearless. Something that should be expected from the teams that have not played yet is they probably had more time to properly adjust to the changes steadily introduced in the first few weeks of the League. At least we finally get to see the zaniness of Chengdu back on display when they get their time to shine. Among the other matches, there should be intense Atlantic matches when Paris take on London and New York fight Atlanta. And it will be intriguing to see how San Francisco can properly adapt to the hero pools format, how its roster will mix and match to suit its needs.
